CAIF - Day centre for children from the ages of 2 - 4. It is run on money from the government by the Church. It also provides support for the families of children to go and runs therapy sessions with professionals and sessions for parents and their babies. About 150 children go to the CAIF and it seems to be well run and well resourced.
Merendero - The Church here runs 2 merenderos. The one we help at is in a poor barrio, in the same place as the CAIF. The food (bread and powdered milk) is provided by the government but is run by volunteers. Around 100 children come, mainly school children but also their younger brothers and sisters and they are able to take milk home for babies and very young children. The children who come are from very poor families, and are genuinely hungry.
Escuelita de Jesus - About 20 children from the Merendero who come to find out more about Jesus and the Church. The Escuelita lacks any sort of resources, and the children are very poor.
