Between September 2003 and June 2004, we spent 10 months doing voluntary work with SAMS (South American Mission Society) in Uruguay. We worked alongside the Anglican church in Salto (map), a city of about 80,000 in the north of Uruguay (map). We mainly worked in a poor neighbourhood, getting involved with the childrens work and youth group there.
