Since our last update, it's got quite cold here in Salto as it's now autumn, although with not having heating it feels like winter and it looks like there have been a few frosts as well. It's generally still been nice and sunny and quite warm in the sun though. The evenings have been getting darker earlier and we've moved the youth group to mid afternoon so it's a bit warmer - which also means that it doesn't clash with the evening service in the parish so our Sundays are quite busy! We've also now split the Escuelita into two groups - the older group (preparing for first communion) that Ricky has been leading, and the younger group with Laura and Silvia. However Silvia has now got a job, so she can't make it on Saturday mornings anymore from this week. Graciela, the coordinator of the CAIF is happy to help out with the Escuelita, but can't make it every week - so please pray that this will be resolved when we go so that it will continue consistently.
Also this week there was a great answer to prayer in that we now have an extra helper for the youth group, so it will be able to continue. Thank you for your prayers in that!
Last week we went with Gilberto up to Rivera (on the Brazilian border) - where there is a small church that they've been starting, which is run with help from the Brazilian church. It was a great opportunity to meet some other Christians and to see how the church is elsewhere. It was really bizarre the way people spoke a mixture of Spanish and Portuguese and talking in Spanish to people and them answering in Portuguese.
It's scary how soon it is that we'll be coming back home - we're looking forward to it nervously and hoping we can get things sorted out here before we go.
